How To Enter

Contestants are required to submit a $150.00 non-refundable deposit along with a head shot roster photo (may be color or black & white and no larger than 5x7) labeled with the contestant’s name and the words “ROSTER” on the back. Deposit & photo must be postmarked or e-mailed by July 10 2010. Check our website periodically for specials at www.GoldenCarouselPageants.com.

You will receive $25 off your entry fees for each new contestant that you refer.

 

Hotel Information

The Hotel de Oro is the official host site of the 2010 Grand National Finals, centrally located in California. Only 110 miles to Sacramento, 73 miles to San Jose, 45 miles to Modesto and 270 miles to Los Angeles. Contestants and families are invited to stay at this unique Spanish style mission with comfortable and clean rooms at a discounted rate of only $59.00 per night. The hotel features a large out door pool and spa as well. There are also many fast food restaurants close by including McDonald‘s, Starbuck‘s & Quizno’s. Carnival Party

On Saturday evening we will host our annual Party!  Join us for games, crafts, cupcake decorating & Ice Cream Sundays for everyone!  Don’t miss out on making new friends and great memories!

 

Poster Contest

Mandatory for ALL contestants! This contest is to promote unity and good sportsmanship between our contestants. Posters may be poster board size and decorated with the TROPICAL theme or any way you would like. Posters should include a picture (please use a photo copy), the contestant’s name, a pen, and plenty of space for signatures. Posters will be hung in the ballroom. Prizes will be awarded for the best posters!

 

 

Beauty Competition

Formal Wear  Basic modeling only. Our judging criteria is based upon appearance, personality, poise and head-to-toe attire. Attire must consist upon the following: Boys: suit or tuxedo.

Girls 0-6: Short pageant, flower girl style or fancy party dress. Pantyhose are not permitted for this age group.

Girls 7 & up: Short or long pageant, formal or fancy party dress. Absolutely NO make-up, absolutely NOTHING fake for ages 0-6 years! (clear lip gloss or clear mascara is ok) Age appropriate stage make-up will be permitted for ages 7 & up! Absolutely NOTHING fake! Contestants may have “pageant” hairstyles, but it must be their own hair! Our judges will NOT mark a contestant down for missing teeth, scrapes, bruises, blemishes or scars. One winner in each age division will receive: Beautiful Custom Carousel Crown, Embroidered Banner And Fabulous Gifts!

One GRAND BEAUTY SUPREME winner will receive: Beautiful Custom Carousel Crown, Banner and Fabulous Gifts.

Sweetheart

This is judged on facial beauty only during Formal wear Competition. One winner in each age division will be named receiving: Beautiful Custom Carousel Crown, Embroidered Banner And

Fabulous Gifts!

One SWEETHEART SUPREME winner will be named receiving: Beautiful Custom Carousel Crown, Embroidered Banner And Fabulous Gifts!

Tropical Wear Modeling

This competition will take place in any  “Tropical” outfit of your choice. Bathing suits may be worn (no bare midriffs and must wear a sarong/wrap). This is not a pro-am category this is freestyle casual or runway type modeling only! We will provide music for this category, contestants will be given 90 seconds on-stage time. One winner in each age division will receive: Beautiful Custom Carousel

Crown, Embroidered Banner And Fabulous Gifts!

Talent/Pro-Am Model Competition

Routines must be under 3 minutes. Musical selections may be on a cassette tape or c.d. and labeled with

the performer’s name, age and song title and must be the ONLY selection on the tape or c.d. A back up

tape or c.d. must be brought with you to competition. Contestants may perform NO MORE than 2 routines TOTAL of any combination: (Example: 1 Talent & 1 Model or 2 Talents or 2 Models) Only the highest score will be used. Winners in each age division (for each Talent & Pro-Am Model) will be named receiving: Beautiful Custom Carousel Crown, Embroidered Banner And Fabulous Gifts!

One GRAND TALENT SUPREME winner with the highest overall talent score will receive this coveted title, receiving: Beautiful Custom Carousel Crown, Embroidered Banner And Fabulous Gifts!

Photogenic

Judged on photogenic quality. Only minimal digital editing (such as removing blemishes or stray hairs

etc.) will be acceptable for this category! One winner in each age division will be named receiving: Beautiful Custom Carousel Crown, Embroidered Banner And Fabulous Gifts!

One PHOTOGENIC SUPREME winner will be named receiving: Beautiful Custom Carousel

Crown, Embroidered Banner And Fabulous Gifts!

Jenny Foster Memorial Pro-Am Supreme

This title will be awarded to the contestant with the highest scores in Pro-Am. There will be one Supreme winner named. The JENNY FOSTER MEMORIAL SUPREME winner will receive: Beautiful Custom Carousel Crown, Embroidered Banner And Fabulous Gifts!

 

 

Mini Grand

This title will be awarded to the contestant with the highest scores in Beauty, Sweetheart, Photogenic & 1

Talent / Pro-Am and Tropical Wear. There will be one 0-6  and one 7 & up. MINI GRAND winners will receive: Beautiful Custom Carousel Crown, Embroidered Banner & $250 CASH!

Ultimate Grand

This title will be awarded to the contestant with the highest scores in Beauty, Sweetheart, Photogenic 1

Talent / Pro-Am, Tropical Wear. One ULTIMATE GRAND will receive: Beautiful Custom Carousel Crown, Embroidered Banner, $500 CASH!

Cover Model Competition

Centerfold - Must be a character photo, full body or ¾ length photo.

Back Cover - Must be a unique head shot.

All photos should be no larger than 8x10 and no smaller than 5x7 and preferably in color, and the photo

must be recent - no more than 1 year old! Only minimal digital editing is acceptable such as removing blemishes, stray hairs, backgrounds, props, etc…

One Back Cover and One Centerfold winner will each receive: Beautiful Crown, Embroidered Banner

General Information

«  Judges decisions are final!

«  Good Sportsmanship is a must at all times! Failure to display good sportsmanship may result in

     immediate dismissal from the Grand Finals and any other future events.

«  No coaching ages 5 and up. Coaching may result in point deductions. Contestants up to age 4 may be

     escorted on stage by one chaperone. Contestants 0-2 must be escorted on stage by a chaperone.

«  Our official photographer will be available with video & photo packages for sale.

«  All score sheets will be given following the crowning of the Ultimate Grand Supreme.

«  All contestants must bring 2 nice gifts ($10 max.) for the outgoing royalty in their age division and

     1 nice gift ($10 max.) for the outgoing Grand Supreme. Also bring a special gift for a pageant pal in

     your age group to exchange with at the carnival.

«  Tardiness will not be tolerated and may result in a deduction of points.

«  Any prize listed may be substituted for equal or greater value due to availability.

«  No checks will be accepted! CASH ONLY AT REGISTRATION! Payments through Pay Pal will

     only be accepted NO LATER THAN 10 days prior to the pageant. A 4% surcharge will be added.

«  All newly crowned royalty will be required to stay for photos after the coronation ceremony.

«  There will be no refunds unless the event is cancelled or postponed.

«  Crowning attire will be conducted in  our official T-shirt. T-shirts may be decorated.
